I pledge not to reveal the contents of this site, nor any other documentation provided by my local Time Bank to non-members, especially any personal information provided.

 

I understand that I will receive messages from other members of my Time Bank through this web site. Notification of such messages will be sent to the email address I have registered with. I also understand that I will receive newsletters, broadcasts and alerts for my Time Bank from my Coordinator(s) through this web site.

 

I understand that the function of my local Time Bank is to facilitate the exchange of services within the community.  It is my responsibility to use the same caution I would in other circumstances to get to know a person, make reference checks, and use my instincts before engaging with another Time Bank participant - especially for babysitting, elder care, and driving. Since any agreements shall be made by and between parties involved in this transaction, TimeBanks USA and my local Time Bank will not be held responsible and will not assume any liability for claims, damages, or any other consequences which may arise from this arrangement.

 

I hereby agree the duty, responsibility, and liability that is inherent with Time Bank exchanges shall remain as it would be if the parties were not part of any Time Bank. I agree to leave intact the normal remedies and cause-of-action available to these parties in the event of any unforeseen circumstance. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless all parties who facilitate or participate in Time Bank exchanges.

 

I understand that my local Time Bank may not be incorporated or have legal status as an organization. I agree to abide by the core values, rules, and guidelines provided by TimeBank USA and my local Time Bank for proper and courteous behavior. I pledge to proceed with good intent towards being of service to others in my community and treat others in the Time Bank with the respect and kindness.

 

Completion of this application may not conclude the process for joining your local Time Bank.  An orientation or introduction and/or references may be necessary to finalize your membership.

 

 

1.  I understand that as Umpqua Valley Time Exchange (UVTE) members, we offer neighborly services to each other. Members provide services to the best of their ability and do not guarantee their work. The UVTE is a coordinating agency only and cannot guarantee the performance of anyone who is referred.

 

2.  I understand that it is my responsibility to use normal judgment and precautions in choosing to accept an appropriate exchange with other members of the Time Exchange. At any time it is my right to decline an exchange.

 

3.  I agree to communicate my level of experience and qualifications to any possible exchange partner. I understand that honesty and communication is foundational to healthy community function. I will represent my abilities appropriately, offer services that I know I can provide, and do my best to meet the expectations of my exchange partners.

 

4.  I understand that expenses for any materials needed for the exchange will be the responsibility of the service recipient, and those expenses will be agreed upon before the service is delivered, unless all parties agree otherwise in writing.

 

5.  I agree that if I use my personal vehicle while volunteering for the UVTE or offer to drive another member in connection with an exchange through the UVTE, I will, in accordance with Oregon law, have a valid driver’s license and keep in effect adequate and legal automobile liability insurance covering bodily injury and property damage.

 

6.  If I am under 18 years old, I agree to communicate with other UVTE members using only the Community Weaver software’s messaging system. I will not contact other members or engage in contact from other members using personal emails, the phone, or in person without the consent of the UVTE coordinator.

 

 

1.  I understand that the UVTE and its representatives are not responsible for any injury (physical, emotional, psychological, or otherwise) to persons or damage to property experienced while involved with the program. I hereby agree to hold the Umpqua Valley Time Exchange, as well as its employees, representatives, and/or agents, harmless and to release them from any and all claims or liability for any injuries or damage that may occur as a result of my involvement with the UVTE.

 

2. I understand that the UVTE reserves the right to deny or terminate my membership at any time for any reason.

 

 

1.  I consent to a background check upon my initial application and to periodic background checks as long as I remain a member of the UVTE. I understand that this information may determine my eligibility. I am aware that those with a felony, DUII, or history of violent crimes on their record may be eligible to participate—some on a limited basis.

 

2.  I agree to immediately notify the UVTE via phone, email, letter, or in person if I am convicted or have pending charges for a felony, violent crime, or DUII while I am a member of the UVTE. I understand that I may be offered a limited membership in the event of said charges or convictions after becoming a member.

 

3.  I agree to immediately notify the UVTE via phone, email, letter, or in person if I change my name.

 

4.  I understand that the UVTE will keep the results of my background check confidential, unless I agree otherwise in writing. I acknowledge that some of the information provided in my Community Weaver profile is public information and that if I want personal information kept confidential, I should not post it on Community Weaver.

 

5. I understand that the background checks performed by the UVTE (statewide OJIN and DRU SJODIN National Sex Offender Public Website) do not guarantee that there are no UVTE members with criminal backgrounds or the potential for criminal behavior. I understand that the background checks performed do not guarantee my safety.

 

6. I understand that my Community Weaver account may be placed in Guardian Angel mode at any time without my consent or knowledge.

 

I certify that the information given on my membership application is accurate to the best of my knowledge, and I freely consent to all of the above. I have read and agree to the terms of the UVTE Membership Agreements, Release of Liability, and Consent to Background Check and Notification of Criminal Activity.
